Christine Kay Jensen

Christine Kay (Prorok) Jensen, (62) passed away September 22, 2023. Christine, born February 27th, 1961, is the daughter of Duane Prorok and the late Zita (Kuntz) Prorok. Christine was one of 6 children, among them were Gregory, Philip (Deceased), Vicki, Ronald, and Patrick. Christine met her husband of 43 years, Mark Jensen, working at the Douglas County Annex when they were 15. At the age of 19 they were united in marriage on July 18th, 1980, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley, Nebraska. They have 3 children, Bradley Jacob, (38), Brenton Richard (36) and Ashley Marie (32.) Bradley, wife Tiffany and daughter Iyla reside in Dassel, Minnesota. Brenton and wife Jenn reside in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. And Christine’s “girly” Ashley, resides in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin with her partner Andrew. Christine’s favorite activity was shopping, and her favorite thing to buy was jewelry or gifts for family and friends. In her younger years, Christine loved to run, even doing a marathon or two. Christine was always a busy body, and she could never sit still for long. She loved concerts and going to Minnesota Viking Football games. In her later years, she enjoyed coloring and visiting with family. Recently, Mark and Christine had purchased an RV, to travel in. She really loved the RV, and the time spent in there. Anyone who knew Christine, knew her as a happy and joyful person. She always had a smile on her face, and she was known for her laugh and bubbly personality. She was often referred to as “the mom” of the group in her office settings. Christine LOVED the Vikings, and would be the first to tell anyone and everybody that. Her favorite colors were purple and gold and her favorite animal was frogs, following her late mother’s love of frogs. Christine’s favorite music was Queen, or really any type of Rock and Roll. You could say her musical taste was a little eclectic, ranging from Abba to Nickelback to Kid Rock and even Rob Zombie. She was proceeded in death by Zita, her mother, and Philip, her brother. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30am Friday, October 6th at St. John's Catholic Church - Valley, NE. Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 - 10:30am prior to the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Demetia Society of America.
