Kevin Garrison

Kevin Wade Garrison was born on September 13, 1967 in Englewood, Colorado to Danny and Dorene Garrison. He, and his three siblings, spent most of their childhood living in Imperial, Nebraska. Kevin graduated from Chase County High School before going to Kearney State College where he met his wife, Deb. Kevin and Deb and their two children, Rachel and Nicole, made Elkhorn their home. Kevin was a licensed arborist and worked in lawn care before joining the maintenance department at Elkhorn Public Schools in 2005. A life-long Denver Bronco fan, Kevin enjoyed football games, tailgating and managing his fantasy teams. He found rare moments to relax when hunting or fishing; both however were centered around time spent with family. He embraced peace found in nature, and the loyalty of his dog. He liked playing pitch and was known to outbid anyone who chose to play against him. Kevin had an uncanny ability to problem solve and fix anything. If something was broken, everyone knew to ‘just call Kevin.’ Kevin loved his wife with his whole heart and was incredibly proud of his children - they mirrored their lives from his example. His daughters and sons-in-law are teachers and service members and their lives reflect his same self sacrifice. They never questioned how much he loved them or if he was proud of them - he made sure they knew. He spent the last three years pouring his love into his three grandchildren, often becoming like a child himself. He will forever be remembered for the laughter and the occasional practical joke. Kevin lived a life of service to God, his family and his community. Kevin built up his treasures in heaven while living a life of true selflessness. He never hesitated to do anything for anyone. Where he saw a need - he would be there to offer a helping hand. He understood that what we offer in life returns to us in full measure. Kevin’s life was not easy but when times were the most difficult, Kevin responded by offering the world more of himself; he found healing through giving. Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Danny Garrison; his brother, Danny Garrison Jr.; and his sister, Deb Andahl. He is survived by his mother, Dorene; brother, Curt; his wife, Deb; daughters and sons-in-law Rachel and Ben Harger and Nicole and Brandon Bentley and his grandchildren Walker, Hallie, and Hank.
