Brian Kelly Ellis

Brian K. Ellis was born October 24, 1967, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Harold “Bing” and Lora Lee “Lolly” (Nelson) Ellis. Brian grew up in Springfield, Nebraska and graduated from Platteview High School in 1986. He went on to earn degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and UNO in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and ultimately a Master of Business Administration degree. Growing up, Brian spent time riding his dirt bike, hanging with his dog, Spicer in his tree house that he built, listening to music and going to concerts. He even developed a life-long love of animals and nature. Brian married Kelly Anderson on July 27, 1991, at Faith Westwood United Methodist Church. They were blessed with three children: Cassandra Marie, Brett Kelly, and Eric Matthew. The family made their home in Millard, before moving to Papillion for 10 years, and then moved to their home in Valley. Brian worked for Millard Manufacturing while in high school and beyond, then worked at Nelson Data and Warren Distribution. He then started his own business, Linoma Technology, and has spent the last several years working with Taylor and Martin. In addition to his work, Brian was involved with the Nebraska Lakes Association Board. Brian will be remembered as a loving, caring, trustworthy, smart, funny and supportive man. He was a bit of a jokester, and he was very smart, but easy to talk to, and even a little clumsy and accident prone. He was proud to cheer on the Husker football team, was a fan of the Star Wars movies, and listened to pretty much any type of music, but rap. He was a coin collector and enjoyed building model cars and Legos. He liked to make soups big enough for a soup kitchen and enjoyed a good dinner at Stokes or Maharaja Indian Cuisine. Brian was a history buff, and he enjoyed gardening and feeding the purple martin birds that visited the house. He also enjoyed Ford Mustangs and was able to take part in the Mustang Dark Horse Track Attack, where he raced on a professional track. Brian loved his family, and cherished Kelly, his kids, and granddaughters. He was proud of his home on the lake, and loved traveling and boating. Brian will be remembered as a great father, husband, friend and mentor to all who knew him. Brian passed away at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the age of 58 years, 7 months, and 27 days. He was preceded in death by his father Harold “Bing” Ellis, and grandparents Harold W. and Margaret “G.G.” Ellis and Delmar and Darlene Nelson. Brian is survived by his wife Kelly, children Cassandra (Jeff) Lewis, Brett Ellis, and Eric Ellis, granddaughters Ella Jean Lewis and Leah Lynn Ellis, mother Lora Lee “Lolly” Ellis, and brother Brent (Debbie) Ellis. Rest in peace. You will be forever missed, my beloved Vern and adoring father. Your love, kindness, and memory will remain in our hearts forever. A celebration of life service will take place Saturday, June 27 at 3 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Reichmuth Funeral Home, Elkhorn. Inurnment to follow at the Valley Cemetery. A reception with the family will immediately follow the burial at the Outer Limits in Valley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the family.
