Carol Ann Miller

Carol was born September 9, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Dorothy Noyes. At the time of her birth, the Noyes’ resided in Waterloo, Nebraska. Soon after, her sister and only sibling Jean was born. She met Larry (“Ace”) in 1967 and they settled in Valley, Nebraska where they raised Larry Petersen and Lori Kile from Carol’s previous marriages, and in 1969, their third child, William was born. They lived in an area of Valley affectionately known as “Dog Patch,” moving only just once to a house across the street and lived there for 50 years. In 2018, Carol and Larry relocated to Waterford at Roxbury Park Assisted Living Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Carol was a waitress for many years at Miller’s (no relation) Fairway Café in Venice, Nebraska. Following this, she was a cashier at Valley Pharmacy and couldn’t resist the lure of the tips and gabbing with people so she worked part time at Church Street Café in Valley. She was a dog lover and cared for Stubby, Sammy, Maddie, Snoopy and Pixie over her lifetime. For all holiday meals, she didn’t allow anybody to cook and she did it all. She was a wonderful cook, even if she lamented her stuffing being “too sagey.” She attended sporting, band, choir and theater events her children were involved in. Even on a tight budget, if we needed something, we usually got it. She enjoyed playing Canasta with her girlfriends as well as Pitch and Rummy when family came over. She was an avid bowler for many years and threw Fourth of July parties that are still talked about. Carol and her best friend of over 50 years, Shelia Copeland, were on the phone so much, we often joke the phone needed to be surgically removed from her ear. Just kidding, but you get the idea. Carol passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 after of several recent illnesses and hospitalizations. She was made comfortable with the wonderful assistance from the staff at Waterford Assisted Living and Suncrest Hospice. Preceded in death by husband Larry “Ace” Miller, father Charles Noyes, mother Dorothy Jacobson, stepfather Clarence Jacobson, and granddaughter Ashley Frederick. Survived by children: Larry Petersen of Valley, Lori Kile of Omaha and William Miller (Gary Randall) of Omaha, grandchildren; Tanner (Courtney) Petersen and Trevor (Nikki) Petersen, Tony Weihe (Ashley), Ariel, Alyssa and Austin Kile; great grandchildren Maeli, Ayla, Royce, Letti, Paige, Peyton, and Ashton; sister Viola (Jean) Byrom of Omaha, NE, and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 23 at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with Rev. Mary Ann Calta officiating. Burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery with a luncheon after. Visitation will take place on Friday from 5 pm till 7 pm at the Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn with the family present. Memorials can be directed to Nebraska Humane Society.
