Denny J. McGuire

In lieu of flowers, Memorials to the family for later designation. Dennis Joseph McGuire was born on June 25, 1968 in Sioux City, Iowa to Thomas and Patricia (McGuire) Barry. He grew up in Sioux City until he was twelve and the family moved to Omaha where he graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1986 before attending the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. As a young boy, Denny exhibited a photographic memory and showed interest in the sciences especially Astronomy. He also enjoyed photography and sports. Denny lived in Omaha until moving to Ginger Cove in 2010. He was an entrepreneur with several businesses, an artist and had a beautiful voice. He played with an International Men’s Volleyball Team for many years. Denny enjoyed the arts, especially the Symphony and a quiet ride on the lake. He was a kind, caring, creative man with a strong sense of patriotism. Denny was an avid fan of the Huskers, Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James. He gave his attention freely to the people he loved, and those that they loved. Denny passed away on June 11, 2018 at Valley, Nebraska at the age of 49 years, 11 months and 17 days. He was preceded in death by his father Thomas McGuire and step-father Dr. Richard Barry. Denny is survived by his mother Patty Barry of Valley; brothers Tim (Charlotte) McGuire of Shady Shores, TX and Matthew McGuire of Omaha; sisters Molly Thompson of Phoenix, AZ and Shaun McGuire of Valley; Step-brothers Dr. Sean (Dr. Stephanie) Barry of Lincoln and Rick Barry of Glendale, AZ; step-sisters Dr. Debra (Dennis) Mostek of Omaha and Diane (John) Denkinger of Ringwood, NJ; special friend Betsye Paragas of Omaha; 16 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and great nephews,a large extended family and friends.
