Dixie Lou Mueting

Dixie Lou Mueting was born to Everett and Violet Burley on February 28, 1940, in Bloomfield Nebraska. Dixie grew up in Randolph, Nebraska and graduated from Randolph High School. Dixie married Richard McDonald, and they had four children, Rhonda, Rick, Randy and Roxanne. She raised her children as a single mother in Valley, NE and was involved in all of their activities. Dixie was employed in payroll, accounting and mortgage services in the Omaha area, before retiring in 2005. Dixie married Robert Mueting on June 2, 1977. Their marriage was blessed by the Catholic Church in 1988. Dixie was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, St John the Evangelist Catholic church in Valley, and St Jane Francis Church and Christian Mothers in Randolph. Dixie was actively involved with the Cedar County Relay for Life. Dixie moved back to Randolph in 2008 and to Genoa in 2022 due to her declining health. Dixie loved baking, reading, puzzles, shoes, shopping, pretty fingernails, but especially loved family time. While she lived in Randolph, she and her sister Sandra could be spotted wearing matching outfits. They were often referred to as "The Twins." When all the Burley girls were together, there was plenty of cackling and snorting. She looked forward to visits from her kids, grands and great grands. Dixie is survived by her children: Rhonda Stoneburner, Rick McDonald, Randy McDonald, Roxanne (Bruce) Olson, Rob (Ryan Newton) and Diana Mueting. Sisters: Betty (Richard) Roeder, Sandra (Leon) Kuhlman and Patricia Eckdahl. Grandchildren/Great grandchildren: Nicholas (Katie) Olson and Graham, Casey (Chris) Everson and Palmer, Cory Stoneburner, Justin (Jamee) Mueting, and Nick Zander and Carter. Melissa (Dan) Riha and Adalynn, and Brandon Mueting. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Everett and Violet Burley, Robert Mueting, Bob Eckdahl, Bill Stoneburner and Lauri McDonald. Funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, December 9, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Randolph, NE, Rev. Kevin Vogel officiating, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and the Rosary being said at 10 AM. A reception will follow at the church, and interment will be later that afternoon at Calvary Cemetery, Fremont, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Genoa or Randolph Emergency Medical Services. Reichmuth Funeral Homes in Elkhorn, NE in charge of arrangements
