Maple Rd. 402-289-2222 Donald Dean Renter was born on June 5, 1933 with his twin sister Delores in Dodge, Nebraska to Adolph and Mayme (Fendrick) Renter. He grew up in Schuyler and Valley, attended Catholic School in Schuyler and District #24 south of Valley before graduating from Waterloo High School in 1951. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and was a member of Waterloo’s first varsity football team. Don married Sue Egbarts on August 8, 1975 at the United Methodist Church in Valley, Nebraska and they continued to make their home in Valley. Don worked at Builders Supply in Omaha before going to work at Valmont Industries for more than 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, entertaining and cooking. Don was an avid Cornhusker fan, holding season tickets for over 40 years, and was well known for his creative tailgating. He could be stubborn but always loving especially with his grandchildren. Don was thrifty, meticulous and took great pride in his appearance and the quality of his work, truly a perfectionist. He enjoyed roast duck, kraut and dumplings, watching old westerns and never saw a restaurant he didn’t like. Don will forever be remembered by his classic goodbye – “See ya round like a donut”. Don passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Adolph and Mayme and his sister Joyce Stivers. Don is Survived by his wife Sue; children Don and Kate of Norfolk, NE, Dan and Elaine of Wellborn, TX, Deb Anderson of Omaha, Randy and Tammy Egbarts, Pam Cherny, Gary and Stacy Egbarts and Mike and Karen Egbarts all of Valley; 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; brother Ernest of Leshara; twin sister Delores Lewis of Valley; sisters Larine Williams of Ashland, Darlene Yost of Leshara and Nadine Stevens of Valley.
