Franklin James Schneider

Franklin J. Schneider was born August 22, 1955 in Fremont, Nebraska to Franklin B. and Elnor (Lovell) Schneider. Frank grew up in Valley, where he graduated from Valley High School in 1973. During school, Frank played football and baseball. Frank was the owner and operator of CBJ Construction for over 44 years, and had many great accomplishments while he was running the business. Frank could often be heard making the statement “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” He was a loving, genuine, and dedicated man who continued to go to work every day throughout his battle with cancer. One of Frank’s favorite things to do was sit around the kitchen table and have conversations with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing a variety of card games and anyone who knew Frank knew he was a prankster at heart. Frank was a loyal Nebraska Huskers fan, and cheered even harder for whatever teams his sons, grandchildren, nieces or nephews were playing for. Frank loved anything with speed, including Horse Racing, NASCAR racing, or actually driving at a higher-than-normal rate of speed himself, at times. He was also an avid gun collector and was quick to share the information on any new product with everyone. Frank was a strong supporter of Youth organizations, and he made many contributions to the Waterloo/Valley Legion Baseball program. He also continued to support the efforts of the Valley Youth Association where his parents, Frank and Elnor, were two of the eight founding members who created the 4-plex Softball/Baseball complex. Frank was also involved with the VFW in Valley, where he cooked hamburgers on a monthly basis for many years. Frank will be remembered as a fun loving, hardworking guy who wanted the best for his family, and a very generous supporter of his local community. Frank passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 67 years, 3 months, and 7 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin B. Schneider and Elnor M. Lovell. He is survived by his partner Mae Karas, sons Kyle (Alyssa) of Bennington, and Christopher (Kristin) of Omaha, stepmother Lynette Schneider, sisters Vicke Schneider and Rhonda (Larry) Buckley, step sister Brenda Morrison, stepchildren; Michael Karas, Sam Warnock, and Sarah Karas, grandchildren; Kenley and Noah Schneider; Dean Buettner; Bishop, Ryder, and Marley Karas; Antoinette Sidzik and Dakota Warnock; Jacob and Zoey Bothwell; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Celebration of life service 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home in Elkhorn. Visitation Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment Resurrection Cemetery, Omaha. Memorials to the family for later designation.
