James Liberski

James L. Liberski was born to Ralph and Alice Liberski on 2/25/47 in Burwell, NE where his father ranched. His father was (a Purple Heart recipient) served during WW II in the European theatre as an infantry soldier. His mother was British and was member of the English Royal Air force. His parents met during the war and were married in England. Jim was the eldest of 5 children born to Alice and Ralph: James, Minette, Judy, Barbara & Michael. Unfortunately his father’s health steadily declined due to injuries sustained during the war and the family had to sell the ranch and move to Grand Island, NE. Jim attended school in GI but had to quit prior to graduating to help support the family due to his father’s health. Even though the situation was difficult and challenging Jim always managed to maintain a great sense of humor and an optimistic attitude. Later Jim did go on to get is GED and associates degree in business. As Jim grew into young adulthood it became clear that the Lord had a calling on his life. He answered the call and invited Christ into his life as Lord and Savior. Eventually he joined the Christ is the Answer Ministry and traveled all over the U.S. evangelizing through this street ministry. The Lord blessed Jim with a lovely wife, Benita. They met in 1975 and married on 8/30/77. It seemed that they were unable to have children. Once gain the Lord blessed them with a daughter Allison who was born on their 13th wedding anniversary 8/30/90. Jim held various sales jobs and truck driving jobs to support his family. His friends and acquaintances transcended an impressive expanse of social classes. However, he was ever mindful of those less fortunate. As a result he was involved in a homeless ministries while the family lived in Colorado. Jim was a humble and generous individual. You could say he was a “doer” of the Word and not just a “hearer”. Jim leaves behind a multitude of friends and family members who will mourn his loss but take hope in knowledge that they will see him again. If they could sum up Jim in a few words they would say he loved people and was a stranger to no one.
