Kalea Jean Walsh

Kalea Jean Walsh July 8, 1993-March 19, 2025 Kalea Jean Walsh of Elkhorn, NE passed away on March 19, 2025 at the age of 31. Kalea was born on July 8, 1993 in Reno, NV to Jeff and Kathie (Fredricks) Walsh. Kalea attended Elkhorn schools, graduating from Elkhorn High School with the class of 2011. Kalea's talent combined with grit and determination helped her excel in sports, including track, basketball, soccer and softball. She won the 100 meter dash at the track and field days both in the Quad Cities and Elkhorn. She also scored more than 20 points in several middle school basketball games. Kalea loved animals, evidenced by her affection for frogs, dogs and cats. Her most precious sidekick was her miniature dachshund, Charlie. The two were inseparable and shared the same bold personality when they entered the room. Kalea and her brother, Devan supported each other through numerous relocations to new states, communities and schools in their early years. They were always each other's best friend. While Kalea had several close friends over the years, she and her closest friend, Sarah, shared a special bond ever since they met at the age of 4. Their friendship endured the test of time and distance until Kalea's passing. To know Kalea was to love her. She had a quick wit and sense of humor. She liked to work hard and play hard. She was always loyal and dedicated to her family and friends. Kalea is survived by her parents, Jeff and Kathie, brother Devan, maternal grandparents Wally and Vernie Fredricks and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Jerry and Jeannine (Evans) Walsh, maternal grandmother Sylvia (McKay) Fredricks and uncle Eric Fredricks. While our hearts are broken, we trust God's plan for Kalea and look forward to meeting her again. Kalea's final arrangements are being handled by Reichmuth Funeral Home at 21901 West Maple Road, PO Box 711, Elkhorn, NE 68022. There will be a visitation honoring Kalea's life on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. A special prayer will be given at 7 PM with several tributes to follow. We welcome anyone that knew Kalea or her family to attend. A private interment will be held at a later date at St. Paul's Cemetery in Mineral Point, WI. The family asks for no donations, only that you would do something kind for someone or an animal that you love in Kalea's memory.
