Loretta June Lorenz

Loretta June “Lori” Lorenz was born in Plainview, NE to Arthur and Lola Buchholz on June 27, 1936. Lori grew up on her parents’ farm and went to country school in Pierce County. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1954 and then attended Wayne State College. She taught at a country school in Antelope County before moving to Denver, Co in 1958. Lori worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance and was eventually transferred to Omaha, NE, where she met her coworker, Donald Lorenz. They were married in 1960 and to this union two daughters were born, Leslie Ann and Meralee June. Their marriage was blessed with 59 years of love. Loretta enjoyed sewing, especially for her daughters, grandchildren, and herself. She also enjoyed learning new skills for her crafting projects. She taught Sunday School, Bible School, and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved to entertain and be social with her many friends. After Don's retirement they bought an Airstream travel trailer and traveled all over the US, and some of Canada. They then spent several years enjoying warm winters in Mesa, AZ. Loretta loved her family and cherished the times the family was together. She especially liked spending time with family at the lake and celebrating the birthdays of all her great grandchildren. Prior to her death, Lori was residing with her granddaughter and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lorenz, parents Arthur and Lola Buchholz, two brothers, Lyle Buchholz and Warren Buchholz, and brother-in-law Gail Bevington. She is survived by daughters Leslie (Jeff) Fisher and Meralee Allen, 6 Grandchildren, Michelle (Matt) Heston, Brittney (Anthony) Laber, Lindsey Allen, Heather (Devyn) Payne, Jordan (Molly) Fisher, and Colton Allen. She also leaves behind 12 Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Macyn, Gage, Jace, Westyn, Carter, Maxwell, Kaiden, Ellie, Samantha, Sophie, and Emma. Funeral service 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 13232 Blondo St., Omaha, NE. Interment Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn. Visitation Tuesday 6-8 PM at Reichmuth funeral home, Elkhorn. Memorials to the church or JDRF.
