Sally’s mother passed at an early age. She and her sister Doris, were raised by their father and grandmother. Sally met Milton at the age of 18 and they were married on Sept 6, 1948. They began their married life in Belgrade, NE. Sally and Milton were blessed with 7 children: Dan, Connie, Sue, Jane, Tammy, Sally, and Jim. Sally’s family was her life and she worked full time as the CEO, CFO, COO, head of sanitation and head cook of the Sindelar household. Sally followed Milt’s career to various places including Cedar Rapids, Columbus, Norfolk, Ralston, Sioux City, and Colon, where they retired. In 2002, they sold their acreage in Colon and moved to Elkhorn to be closer to their children.They lived in Elkhorn until 2018 when they moved into Elk Ridge Retirement Village. Sally’s life was busy taking care of others including her husband, children, grandchildren, and many dogs. She shared her love through her cooking as you never left home hungry and always had an arm full of leftovers. Everyone enjoyed Sally’s spunkiness, sense of humor and looked forward to her sassy personality. She will always be remembered as the “mom” to everyone, whether they were related or not. She was always busy running kids to school or lessons, cooking for a house full of kids, friends and neighbors, or doing laundry, yard work and pampering the dogs. Her days were busy, yet full of love. Her relaxation was a can of Pepsi, chocolate, taffy, nachos or hot wings. She was always willing to share with the grandchildren and spoiled them daily. All of Sally’s children and grandchildren were blessed with her love. (However, the boys seemed to have a special place in her heart.😉 ) Sally celebrated her 92nd birthday with family and friends on August 24, 2020 and cherished her 72 years of marriage to Milton. Her greatest love was for Milton and all of her family. Sally was an angel on earth and is now our angel in heaven continuing to care for her family.
