Margaret Mary Cody

Margaret Mary “Marge” (Lynch) Cody was born June 16, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas to Francis “Frank” and Margaret (Meikel) Lynch. Marge grew up in Omaha where she attended St. Pius X school, and graduated from Marian High School in 1969. Marge married William Cody on May 14, 1976 at the courthouse in Omaha, Nebraska and to this union, four children were born: Tara, Erin, Shana, and Wesley. Marge and Bill made their home in Valley and Fremont, Nebraska. Marge worked at McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, but her most important job was wife and mother. She cherished her four children and the love of her life, Bill. Marge was an outgoing, straightforward, strong-willed woman who was very creative, and was a social butterfly. She enjoyed puzzles, painting, arts and crafts, playing BINGO, and socializing with everyone. Marge was a huge Husker fan, and liked to drink a cold Pepsi, or go out to dinner for Chinese food at the Brass Wok. Her favorite flower was the yellow rose, favorite movie was Titanic, and she liked to listen to soft oldies music. She will be remembered for her great laugh, and had a voice that carried, so that everyone knew she was in the room. Marge was fond of letting you know how proud she was of you, and when thinking of Marge, remember that she overcame a lot of obstacles in her life, but she never gave up. Marge passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of e 67 years, 1 month, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by husband William, parents Francis and Margaret, sister Jean, brother Michael, and grandchildren Logan and Riley. Marge is survived by son and daughter-in-law Wes & Kelly of Virginia Beach, VA, daughters and sons-in-law: Erin Moser, and fiancee’ Jay Sellhorst of Fremont, Tara & Joseph Riggle of Scribner, NE, Shana & Timothy Clapper of Fremont, Teresa & John Wetta, grandchildren: Cade & Avery Cody, Harrison, Faith, and Joseph Riggle, Mikenna, Garret, and Tyler Moser, Bailey & Lauren Clapper, and Joel, Janelle, and Brooke Wetta, sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia & John Westrup and Mary Jane & Dwight Linn, brothers and sisters-in-law James & Betty Lynch, and Richard & Amy Lynch, sister-in-law Marjean Lynch, and many nieces, nephews and cousins that loved her very much. Margaret M. “Marge” Cody, age 67 of Omaha, died 7/30/18. Preceded in death by husband William, parents Francis and Margaret, sister Jean, and brother Michael.
