Margie Marie Reichmuth

Margie (Pfeifer) Reichmuth was born on June 17, 1925 in St. Bernard, Nebraska to Frank and Maria (Glasser) Pfeifer. She grew up on the family farm near St. Ben where she attended grade school before graduating from Humphrey St. Francis Catholic High School in 1943. As a young girl, Margie was a tomboy, working outside with the boys and helping around the farm. Margie married Tony Reichmuth on September 6, 1943 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey and they were blessed with seven children: Judy, Betty, Steve, Susie, June, Mike and Roger. Margie and Tony made their home on their farm north of Humphrey until they retired in 1989 and moved to Columbus. In 2009, Margie moved to Walnut Grove Retirement Community in Omaha, where she enjoyed her last few years among new friends. Margie was a loving homemaker who raised her family working side by side with Tony on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, dancing and was a competitive card player. Margie liked to keep her mind sharp by working crossword puzzles and word games and couldn’t resist a chance to go shopping with her daughters. She was active in Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers. Margie loved to have her children and their families spend time together. She was a loving, caring mother and friend and adored her grandchildren. Margie loved to try new and interesting foods and when traveling would choose the small local diner over the franchise restaurant as well as the more scenic routes over the main highways. Margie passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 29 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Maria Pfeifer, her husband Tony, son-in-law Marvin Huettner, great grandson Joseph Morrison and siblings Lambert Pfeifer, Ed Pfeifer, Henry Pfeifer, Venora Pfeifer, Luella Foltz and Bud Pfeifer. Margie is survived by her children Judy Huettner of Plano, TX; Betty and John West of Tecumseh, KS; Steve and Virginia Reichmuth of Columbus, NE; Sue and Tom Davis of Central City, NE; June and Ed Rowell of Omaha, NE; Mike and Susie Reichmuth of Stromsburg, NE and Roger and Deana Reichmuth of Syracuse, NE; 18 grandchildren , 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; sisters Sis Heimann of Columbus, NE and Mary Ann Schiffbauer of CO; and brother Joe Pfeifer of Aurora, CO; Reichmuth, Margie age 87 of Omaha formerly of Humphrey Survived by children Judy Huettner of Plano, TX, Betty and John West of Tecumseh, KS, Steve and Virginia Reichmuth of Columbus, NE, Sue and Tom Davis of Central City, NE, June and Ed Rowell of Omaha, NE, Mike and Susie Reichmuth of Stromsburg, NE and Roger and Deana Reichmuth of Syracuse, NE; 18 grandchildren , 29 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; sisters Sis Heimann of Columbus, NE and Mary Ann Schiffbauer of CO; brother Joe Pfeifer of Aurora, CO; Visitation Friday 3 to 7 at the funeral home in Elkhorn with a wake service at 7 PM.
