Nancy Marilyn Nath

Nancy Marilyn (Jourdan) Nath was born May 30, 1937 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lawrence and Lorraine (Newton) Jourdan. Nancy grew up in South Omaha where she attended school, including Omaha South High School. Nancy had a tough childhood, but she enjoyed playing soccer, and taking her younger sisters to visit their Grandma. Nancy married Edward Nath on July 3, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska, and the couple was blessed with four children; Pamela, Penny, Patty, and Clay. Nancy and Ed raised their family in Omaha and two different farms south of Waterloo, Nebraska, before moving into Waterloo about 35 years ago. Nancy worked at Western Electric, tended bar at the Grover Street Lakes bar, Nebraska testing lab, and for many years as an order filler at Pamida until her retirement. Nancy liked to play cards, and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed Zane Grey novels. She was very sociable, and would talk to anyone. She liked to watch professional wrestling and the Family Feud on TV. Nancy and Ed would attend numerous Omaha Lancers hockey games, along with following all of the grandkids’ sports. Most of all, Nancy loved to travel, especially with Ed. No matter if it was to Mexico or Padre Island, or a drive to Nebraska City or Branson so Ed could camp and fish, Nancy was always content to enjoy the scenery and take it all in. Nancy died on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha at the age of 82 years, 2 months, and 5 days. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, daughter Pamela, and parents Lawrence & Lorraine Jourdan. Nancy is survived by her son Clay Nath of Tabor, IA, daughters & sons-in-law Penny & Rod Graf and Penny & Alan Chard all of Waterloo, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother Larry, and sisters June Wells and Virginia. Nancy M. Nath, age 82, of Waterloo, NE, died 8/4/19. Preceded in death by husband Edward, daughter Pamela, and parents Lawrence & Lorraine Jourdan. Survived by son Clay Nath of Tabor, IA, daughters & sons-in-law Penny & Rod Graf and Patty & Alan Chard all of Waterloo, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother Larry, and sisters June Wells and Virginia. Funeral service 10:30 AM Friday at the funeral home in Elkhorn. Interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn. Visitation with the family Thursday 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials to the family.
