In Loving Memory of Patricia (Patty Jo) Peirce Knight Born - March 26, 1937 Died - December 26, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Pat Knight, a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Patricia was born to Irene McCormick and Edgar Peirce, on March 26, 1937, in Omaha, NE. She was raised in Omaha, NE. and Modena-Princeton, MO. She graduated in 1955 from North High School in Omaha, NE. Soon after she married Charles Knight. She went on to raise their three children, Cindy, Tim, and Brian. Pat’s love of all things beautiful was personified at her home in Bennington. A hilltop-acre surrounded by bouquets of home-grown flowers, visited by incredible country wildlife, and views of Nebraskaland which were second-to-none marked one of her favorite places. Her kitchen window opened to her bird feeder which she would watch every day and she even helped raised blue birds during the springtime. Outside of the home, Pat enjoyed her time as a volunteer for the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens and was a 52-year member of the ‘Gabby Gals’, a Douglas County extension group. She was especially fond of their Thursday morning breakfast get-togethers and numerous luncheon outings. Pat created beauty around her. She will be remembered most for her genuine, caring, and loving heart for her family including her grandchildren, her great-granddaughter, and her dearest of friends. She was always interested in learning about “their story”. Pat’s positive spirit, determination, and strength in the face of adversity served as an inspiration to all who knew her. Pat enjoyed her professional career at HDR Architecture, Lozier Corporation and Stems Florist. Patricia is preceded in death by husband Charles, mother Irene, stepfather John Rohrer, beloved aunts, grandmothers and cousins. Survived by children Cindy (Richard) Horeis, Tim Knight and Tracy Healy, and Brian Knight and Jenny Zadina, granddaughters Emily (Gregory) Gale, Sydney Knight, and great-granddaughter Marcie Gale. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her family and the countless lives she touched. A Graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery Omaha, NE. A celebration of life service will be in the Spring, her favorite time of year!
