Roxann Jo Tucker

Roxann Jo Graske was born January 2, 1946, in Omaha, Nebraska to August “Gus” and Clare (Krejci) Graske. Roxann grew up in Omaha, and attended Mt. View grade school, and went on to graduate from Marian High School in 1964. She then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and earned her Bachelor Science degree in Animal Science in 1970. Growing up, Roxann enjoyed riding horses and playing with her siblings, and was active in Girl Scouts, 4-H, and showing dogs. Roxie later made her home outside of Waterloo, Nebraska, and worked in her family’s business, G&G Manufacturing. She wore numerous “hats” at the company and served everywhere from receptionist to the company President. Roxie was a loyal, honest, generous, and fun-loving woman, who was a caretaker of Mother Earth. She loved rodeos, gardening, traveling, rock hunting, recycling and feeding wildlife. Dinner at Farmer Brown’s was a treat, and she enjoyed a good, cold Pepsi or a fried shrimp dinner and a slice of cheesecake. Roxie was a woman who lived life to the fullest, and always had fun doing what she was doing. She will be remembered for being a “black and white” person-most all issues or decisions were made with an old-fashioned right or wrong attitude. She had strong opinions about how things should be done, and honesty and fairness were at the foundation of those convictions. Roxie passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 78 years, 6 months, and 8 days. She was preceded in death by her parents August “Gus” and Clare Graske, brother Gary Graske, sister Cindy Smith, nephew Gary Smith, and niece Camey Smith. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Lee & Leslie Graske, brother-in-law Burton “Doc” Smith, and niece and nephews: Jamie (Shawn) Leahy, and their children Myles and Owen, Rick Graske (Christine Von Dollen), and Travis (Cindy) Smith, and their son, Cody. A memorial gathering and meal will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 beginning at 12 Noon at the Elk City Hall in Elk City, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roxann's name may be mailed to the Waterloo Fire Department, 406 7th Street, Waterloo, NE 68069
