Scott Francis Wallace

Scott Francis Wallace was born August 8, 1961 in Omaha, Nebraska to Thomas J. and Anne L. (Brodecky) Wallace. Scott grew up in Omaha where he attended grade school at St. James Catholic, and graduated from Creighton Prep High School in 1979. After high school, Scott attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Wally” or “Bro”, Scott has made his home in Omaha, and is the proud father of Kurt, Brent, and Kaylee Wallace, and Jennifer and Ashley Brown, and Grandpa to Tatum Hanken. Scott was engaged to be married to the love of his life, Bonita Smith, this August 9, 2012. Scott worked as a pipe fabricator for Midwest Pipe and most recently, was the owner of Foundry Services. He was active with his church group at Calvary Chapel, but Scott most loved being active and being outdoors. He loved riding his Harley, camping, racing, golfing, hunting, snow and water skiing, playing volleyball and cooking. Scott was a BIG Nebraska Cornhusker fan, and loved wearing his Husker Red. He enjoyed cooling off with a Budweiser, never turned down a trip to La Casa Pizza, and could often be heard telling someone that “it will feel better when it quits hurting”. Scott will be remembered as a loving, caring, funny man, who always had a joke, and was often late. He was very charitable and was always happy to give back to his community. He took great pride in raising his kids, and being a terrific grandfather to Tatum. He was a great son, brother, father, and grandfather, and he cherished time spent with his kids, especially watching them play football, volleyball, and basketball. His beautiful blue eyes and caring, giving personality will be greatly missed. Scott passed away in his camper at the Fremont State Lakes Recreation Area on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the age of 50 years, 9 months, and 13 days. He is preceded in death by his grandpa and grandma Brodecky. Scott is survived by his soon-to-be wife, Bonita, children Kurt Wallace, Jennifer Brown, Brent Wallace, Ashley Brown, and Kaylee Wallace, grandson Tatum Hanken, mother Anne Wallace, father Tom and his wife Vergene Wallace, sister Connie & husband Clyde Marker, brother Michael Wallace, sisters: Holly Nockels and Kim Pegg, and Sam the dog. Scott F. Wallace, age 50, of Valley, NE, died 5-21-12 at the campgrounds at the Fremont State Lakes. He is survived by wife, Bonita Wallace, children: Kurt Wallace, Jennifer Brown, Brent Wallace, Ashley Brown, and Kaylee Wallace, grandson Tatum Hanken, mother Anne Wallace, father Tom (Vergene) Wallace, sister Connie & Clyde Marker, brother Michael Wallace, also survived by sisters: Holly Nockels, Kim Pegg, and Sam the dog. Memorial service 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 25, 2012, at the funeral home in Elkhorn. Inurnment Prospect Hill Cemetery, Elkhorn. Memorial gathering Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
