William Bosanek

William Stephen Bosanek was born on October 24, 1943 in Omaha, Nebraska to Charles and Frances (Pavlick) Bosanek. He grew up in South Omaha where he attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic grade school and graduated from Omaha Pratt High School in 1961. As a young boy, Bill’s life revolved around family especially time with his father. He was active in the Papillion Saddle Club as a young adult. Bill married Carol Parachini on October 25, 1969 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska and they were blessed with 5 children: Bill, Jr., James, Madonna, Ted and Theresa. Bill and Carol have raised their family in Omaha. Bill worked at the Douglas County Highway Department and Douglas County Courthouse before working full time for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department retiring in 2000 as Chief of Communications after 38 years of service. While his children were young, Bill worked part-time at Metro Area Transit so that Carol could stay home with the kids. He remained active on MAT committees, Douglas County Sheriff Reserves/boat patrol. In 2002, Bill went to work for Reichmuth Funeral Home as a funeral assistant. Bill was a member of the Valley Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, Fraternal Order of Police, St. John’s Catholic Church and Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a dedicated father and very proud of his children and their accomplishments. Bill was a fun-loving, loyal and spiritual man who treasured his time with his family, especially at the cabin. He was very social (as you all know), loved playing cards, could fix almost anything and was constantly tinkering. Bill followed Nebraska football and all the activities of his children. He enjoyed Stoysich sausage, Bourbon and water and dinner out at Johnny’s in South O. Bill passed away suddenly on June 17, 2014 at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Frances and brothers James and Charles, Jr. Bill is survived by his wife Carol (Parachini) Bosanek, five children Bill Bosanek, Jr, Jim Bosanek and wife Shannon, daughter Madonna Scott and husband Gary, Ted Bosanek and wife Mindy, daughter Theresa Bosanek and partner Ellen Lee, eight grandchildren and brother Jerry Bosanek and wife Debbie. Bosanek, William “Bill” age 70 years of Omaha, NE A wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. Enjoyed family and friends and endless time at the cabin. Dedicated to public service at Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for 38yrs, Metro Area Transit for 16 years, and at Valley Fire Dept for 30yrs. He will be truly missed. Visitation Thursday 4 to 7 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Valley with a Wake Service at 7 PM. Funeral Mass on Friday 10:30 AM at St. Johns. Interment Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Elkhorn.
