William (Billy) (Skid) Rowe February 17, 1951 ~ July 30, 2026 Bill was raised in Valley, NE, where he made many lifelong friends (even the Valley police department knew him by his first name). Billy attended grade school and high school in Valley, where he received the “Special Guys" Valedictorian honors of his graduation class Shortly after graduation, he moved to Las Vegas to pursue his dreams of becoming a craps dealer. While in Vegas he won millions, however he felt so guilty, he decided to give it back with interest (Blackjack & Slots). He had way too much fun in Vegas, even the Nevada State Police thought he should return to Nebraska. Bill lived many years in the gated community of lake Platteview “Estates”. He became the Mayor of Lake Platteview and would often host sing-alongs and provide refreshments for his community family. He dabbled in marriage but saved the best for last when he met Janet. If you saw Billy, you saw Janet. Billy had many hobbies. Playing cards, horseshoes, golf, and bowling were a few. He was known to be a golf legend. On Sunday mornings, Billy could often be found at Country Drive, having communion while talking to God about his golf game. Billy enjoyed his family and friends and often let them know they were #1 with a special one finger salute. Fine dining was also a special activity. He often visited 5 star restaurants, such as Spruce Street Tavern, R Bar, and Buck’s. He was also a connoisseur of fine liquor, such as Busch Latte. He was fond of camo, fishing, and hunting cans. Billy retired from Lyman-Richey after climbing the corporate ladder by two step stools at a time. Billy knew the importance of hydration. He would carry “little red” with him to hydrate after work and anytime while out and about. Bill was a happy and funny person to those who knew him and wanted everyone to leave with a smile on their face and laughter in their heart. He had two daughters who he loved very much. From sports to life he was always their #1 fan. Billy passed away at home on July 30th, surrounded by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Irene and stepson, Matthew (Bucky)Timm. He is survived by his wife, Janet, daughters, Jenny (Chosen) McKenzie and Sherry (Matt) Graner, stepsons, Dusty (Charissa) Timm, Cory Timm, brothers, Dick (Pat) Rowe, Tom (Lynell) Rowe and Denny (Connie) Rowe, and 11 grandchildren.
