Connie"Nick" Heinrich

Nick (Connie Lynne Nickelson) Heinrich, the eldest and undoubtedly the wisest of five sisters born to Kenneth Gustav and Laura Mae (Lindholm) Nickelson in St. Paul, Minnesota, lived a life full of love, laughter, and plenty of "let’s-solve-this" energy. Nick was always the first to offer advice, the last to hold back her opinions, and forever the one you could count on to “get it done”—whether it was rallying for Little League, organizing HOA meetings, or steering the school board toward a decision (maybe that’s why Johnny can’t read—just kidding!). Nick was a top achiever in the NSBA programs, represented Nebraska at state gatherings in New Orleans, and even participated in a Marine Corps-sponsored trip to San Diego, offering high school students a non-college option. She joins her parents, sisters, and their spouses—Helen (Tom) Whyte, Linda (Larry) Cushing, Lorrie (Rick) Cox, brothers-in-law Richard Heinrich, William Heinrich, Terry Heinrich, sister-in-law Lisa (Heinrich) Bruns, and her niece Cassandra, along with sons Christopher and Korey. Nick leaves behind her husband Keith, sons Kevin (Amy) and Ken (Sarah), grandchildren Sydney, Skylar, Trevor, Gavin, Kalvin, and Devin, as well as her sister Lisa (Pat) McDonald and sisters-in-law Mary (Rick) Yenzer and Virginia (Koch) Heinrich. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, with special mention of Ryan (Claire) Wright, Randi (Chad) Hamlett, Tyler (Morgan) McDonald, and Jordan McDonald. In addition to her family, Nick’s caregivers provided invaluable support during her journey, and the family extends heartfelt thanks to those who showed incredible compassion and care in her time of need. Their love, kindness, and dedication will always be remembered. Special thanks go to Cheryle Henderson (VieMed), Jane Harnack (Home Instead), Carmella Ehle (Private Home Helper), and Bobbie Kreikemeier APRN-NP (Amedisys) for their exceptional care and unwavering support. In true Nick fashion, she made sure her send-off was as fabulous as her entrance. Her beloved Cancun family will forever feel the void left by her larger-than-life spirit—one that can only be filled with good times, laughter, and tequila (preferably with a splash of "what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico"). Nick cherished her "River Rats," a group of friends who gathered regularly for mischief, laughter, and stories, and she also adored her junior high buddies, the Rusty Rowdy Beavers, with whom she shared countless adventures and inside jokes. In fact, add “what happens in Vegas, Cheyenne, South Dakota, Iowa and parts of Nebraska….” When not organizing or solving problems, Nick could be found cheering on bull riders who couldn’t sit still for eight seconds. Her fiery spirit, quick wit, and knack for making everything sound like the best idea ever will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests bull riding tickets, HOA complaints, or tequila to continue Nick’s legendary life in style.
