Douglas Eugene Teutsch Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Douglas Eugene Teutsch passed from this life on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 72 years. He was born March 20, 1949, in Vermillion, South Dakota, a son of the late Alvin and Alice (Christiansen) Teutsch. Doug was a man of many qualities. Kind, compassionate, and generous are some that best describe him. His kindness extended to his entire family and everyone he met. Never thinking about himself, he reached out to others if he thought he could help make things easier for someone else. Certainly not wanting to see anyone experiencing a bad time, Doug offered comfort and concern. Doug's generosity went well beyond measure. Given a bonus or something a little extra, he'd give it away to someone he thought needed it more than he did. Besides, he considered his life to be full of all the treasures he ever needed and wanted...a wonderful wife who he adored, terrific children and grandchildren, and other family and friends that he loved and who loved him. A man of incredible work ethic, those that he worked with at Menards were not just coworkers, they were part of his extended family. He always referred to them as his "Menards Family and would never shy away from offering them anything he could do for them...and with them. Sometimes referring to himself as “the old guy”, he did his best to be the guy everyone wanted to work with or be around. Doug taught us the importance of always looking for the best in people...and the best in ourselves. There are no words to describe how hard the future will be without him. But by knowing him, we can find peace in the memories we hold so dearly in our hearts. Doug was our blessing, and he can never be replaced... but he will always be loved and remembered. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sue; children: Shawn (Koohae Hisa) Teutsch, Stacy (Jeff) Schindler, Stephanie (Kyle) Muchow, Stacy (Kevin) Grant, Marc (Julia) Westerfield, Sara (Scott) Shamburg; 14 grandchildren; “Little Girl” Berkley; siblings: Mike Teutsch, Mike (Berit) Kingsley, Bill (Judy) Kingsley, Russell Kingsley (Judy Schott), Lisa (Lee) Hanken, Julie (Steve) Gerdees, Jim (Teri) Teutsch, Alvin J. (Laurie) Teutsch, and Anita Teutsch; sister-in-law, Sharon (Doug) Van Fleet; brother in-law, Greg Zbylut; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorials may be directed to the family for designation at a later date.
