Evelyn Elizabeth Turner Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Evelyn Elizabeth Johnson Turner was born on February 8, 1925 in Yutan, Nebraska to Gus and Greta (Swenson) Johnson. She grew up in Yutan where she attended grade school and graduated from Yutan High School in 1942 before attending the Omaha School of Business. Evelyn married Melvin in Turner on July 27, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yutan, Nebraska and they were blessed with two sons: Randy and Jeff. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Yutan. Evelyn ran the family business, Nelson-Johnson Floral Company for many years and after selling the business, she went to work for Ray Gain Florist in Omaha for 37 years. Later, Evelyn managed the senior center in Yutan. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxillary Post #262. Evelyn enjoyed quilting and was an avid Husker fan. Evelyn passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 25 days. She was preceded in death by her parents Gus and Greta, Husband Melvin and brother Ralph Johnson. Evelyn is survived by sons Randy of Yutan and Jeff (Debi) of Federal Dam, MN; grandchildren Kathy (Chad) Tremel of Omaha, Tiffany Turner and Kristina Turner of Burnsville, MN and John Turner of Independence, MO; great grandchildren Kiley and Luke Tremel and Thea Turner.
