Memorials to the church Irene Bessie Walla Nosal was born on February 29. 1928 in Stanton County, Nebraska to Albert and Antonia (Pekry) Walla and she grew up on the family farm 5 miles northeast of Clarkson, Nebraska. As a young girl, she was active in farm life, baking, sewing and household chores. She attended country school before graduating from Clarkson High School in 1946. Irene earned her teaching certificate through Normal Training and taught school for 3 years. Irene married Arthur Nosal on June 18, 1953 at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson and Irene and Arthur were blessed with 5 children: Theresa, Daniel, Timothy, Bernadette and Jolene. Irene and Arthur raised their family in Clarkson, and LaVista before settling in Elkhorn in 1976. Irene taught country school before moving to Columbus, then she married Art and moved back to Clarkson. She worked at B&D Manufacturing, as an assistant at Dr. O’Neal’s office from 1966 to 1975 where she took care of many duties, Clarkson Nursing Assistant from ’74-‘75,Clarkson Hospital Unit Clerk ’75 to ’80, a receptionist for Dr. P. Priorichi in Omaha from ’80 to ’83, a reservationist for People’s Express Airlines from ’83 to ’84, a Payroll clerk for First Data Resources from 1984 to 1988, payroll clerk for Idleman Telemarketing, responsible for 600 to 900 employees from ’88 to ‘99. She loved work with all kinds of crafts, enjoyed gardening, canning, Czech dancing and playing cards. She was a talented seamstress and made many of the clothes for the children, especially their Czech dresses. Irene was also an excellent baker, making wedding cakes for most of the extended family members and flower arrangements. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, fundraiser for Heart and Cancer research, held offices in the Special Needs Program, Alter Society, Women’s Club and Parent-Teacher Counsel. Irene was a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader and Den Mother for Boy Scouts. But through all of her many activities, Irene’s main focus was her family both immediate and extended family. She loved family gatherings, picnics and holiday’s which included large numbers of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was an avid Husker fan and loved to tend to her roses. She was an excellent cook, known for her dumplings and sauerkraut and kolaches. Irene passed away peacefully at her home in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 1 day. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Antonia, husband Arthur, siblings Albert and Tony Walla and Eleanor Barnas, daughter Theresa McIntyre, brothers-in-law Gene (Betty) Nosal and Kenny Nosal and sister-in-law Gloria (Ken) Schafer and nephews Ronald Schafer and Douglas Nosal. Irene is survived by her children: Daniel and Elena Nosal of Castle Rock, Colorado, Timothy Nosal of Elkhorn, Bernadette Kluthe-Buresh of North Bend, Nebraska and Jolene and Tom Costanzo of Council Bluffs, Iowa; grandchildren Jesse and Melissa Kluthe, Nicholas Kluthe and Vel, Benjamin Buresh, Christina Costanzo and Glen McCoy, Antonia Costanzo and Austin Blakeman, Jolene and Justin Stilen, Jeremy McIntyre, Crystal and Dennis McCoy and Dima and Inna Sadomov. Great grandchildren Destiny Goodwin, Dominic Goodwin, Zephan Kluthe, Trayven Kluthe, Braydenze Kluthe, Aalivah Kluthe, Marrisa McCoy, Madelyn McCoy, Grace Ann Blakeman, Ava Jo Blakeman, Gracie Lynn Stilen, Jayden Stilen, Elijah Stilen, Paislee Stilen, Carter McCoy, Nora McCoy and Grisha Sadomov. great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Elaine Walla of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lillian Walla of Stamford, CT and Sylvia (Virgil) Mostek of Omaha; Brother-in-law Jack (Kathy) Nosal of Columbus, NE; Many nieces and nephews;
