May 17, 1958 - September 23, 2021
Janice was born on May 17, 1958 to Robert L. Stalder and Darlene M. Stalder in Beatrice, Nebraska. She later graduated from Wymore Southern High School. After graduating, Janice spent 21 years as a racetracker, traveling from coast to coast for her job. Working with the horses was a great joy for her, making sure they were cared for and comfortable, tending to any injuries like a vet, and eventually becoming a trainer. She was an animal whisperer and if anyone was having problems with a horse, they would go to Janice for help. After her time on the racetrack, she continued to work with horses as a farm manager at Sycamore Farms in Elkhorn. Settling down in Nebraska allowed her to meet the love of her life, Phil, in 1997. While Janice spent her life working with horses, her love for animals extended to every type imaginable. She had many dogs who were very special to her, she loved to bird watch, many raccoons and opossums knew they could count on Janice for a meal, and she was known for saving frogs and relocating them to a better habitat. The caring Janice had was not just for animals, but also extended to the people in her life, or anyone that she knew needed help. Janice was a wonderful baker, and was always thinking of people on their birthdays Those who knew her would look forward to the special birthday desserts they would receive from Janice; her pineapple upside-down cake was especially delicious. When Janice wasn’t caring for animals or people, she did enjoy a game of Candy Crush on her phone, as well as slots and keno, she had a beautiful flower garden that she tended to, and listening to Pastor Reg Kelly’s sermons was important to her. Janice loved to watch cowboy movies and shows, with Yellowstone being her favorite. Singing with her family was another favorite pastime; her taste in music was very eclectic and she listened to everything except “that awful rap music.” Janice was very family oriented and was the one to always make sure everyone got together. She was always there for everyone and was a shoulder to cry on, but you also knew you should be scared if you got on her bad side! Janice truly had a servant’s heart and was always willing to give her time and her love to those who needed it; she will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Janice was preceded in death by father, Robert Stalder and brother, Edward Stalder. She is survived by mother, Darlene Stalder; siblings: Robert Stalder, Aaron Stalder, Daniel Stalder, and Shonti Stalder; significant other, Phil Wade; grandchildren, Jadyn Wade and Aubrey Wade; beloved dog, Brumby, and many other loving family members. Visitation 9:00am Tuesday September 28th with funeral service beginning at 10:00am at Reichmuth Funeral Home. Interment: Four Mile Church Cemetery, Humboldt, NE.
