Jeffrey Allen Larson

March 5, 1959 - September 3, 2020

Jeffrey Allen Larson was born on March 5, 1959 in Ipswich, England to Robert and Irma (Hemmrich) Larson. He grew up in Erie and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cherry Hill New Jersey. Jeff graduated from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh in 1977. He attended The University of Pittsburgh (huge fan) before moving to Omaha, Nebraska and finishing his education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Nebraska/Omaha. As a young boy, Jeff was a excellent athlete in baseball and swimming. He was voted swim team captain at three high schools, and worked as a lifeguard. He enjoyed the Drama Club and played Bernardo in the school’s performance of Westside Story. From an early age, Jeff was a hard worker, delivered papers (won numerous awards) and worked at McDonalds. Jeff married Cindy Heng on May 30, 1987 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Nebraska City, Nebraska. They were blessed with two daughters: Rachel and Meredith. Jeff and Cindy raised their daughters in Omaha. Jeff worked as a swim coach and an analyst with First Data Resources. Due to some medical issues, Jeff went on disability six years ago. Through all of the challenges, he maintained a positive attitude and made the best of his situation. Jeff enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, playing cards and Horseman’s Park. He was regularly seen with his “Big Gulp”. He was a kind, generous and resilient man with a wonderful sense of humor. Jeff was an avid Steelers fan and savored a home grilled burger, a cold fountain diet Coke and dinner out, just about anywhere. Jeff passed away on September 3, 2020 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 61 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was preceded in death by his father Robert. Jeff is survived by his wife Cindy; daughters Rachel (Jake) Coyan of Nebraska City, Nebraska and Meredith Larson of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson Carter Coyan; mother Irma Larson of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings Cheryl (Chuck) Oakes of Clarence Center, New York, Michelle (Tim) Wertz of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Kristin Larson of Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Erin (Jim) Ellis of Omaha and Sean Larson of Omaha; and was loved by many nieces and nephews.
