Kathy Northam Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathy was born on February 1st, 1949. She was the youngest of three sisters and one younger brother. Kathy was a lover of the mountains, animals, and children. Kathy graduated from Marian High School after a short stint at Duchesne Academy. Kathy went on to obtain her bachelor’s degree and began working with special needs children. She then went on to raise her three children Matt, Cristin and Meagan while returning to school to obtain her master’s degree in Speech Pathology. She worked with both the elderly and young children, ending her career with Elkhorn Public Schools in 2011. Life was not easy for Kathy, and this earth paid her no favors, but she always put on a brave face and no matter what battles she faced she would say “we will figure it out.” Kathy was a hardworking, creative, stubborn, sarcastic, introverted soul who loved to be at home enjoying the company of her dogs. Before her physical body began to fail her, she loved spending time with her grandson Peyton with whom she had an amazing bond. Everyone that has had the opportunity to know Kathy at some point in their life can attest to the fact that we are all better for having known her. Kathy is now free from the physical pain and freedoms she was robbed of on this Earth. She is free. Kathy passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Brookestone Meadows in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 23 days. She was preceded in death by her dogs Coalie, Bummer, Diamond, Duke, Bosco, Trouble and Birdie, and grand dogs Angel and Tonka. Kathy is survived by her children; Matthew (Lindsay) Northam of Elkhorn, Cristin (John) Allee of Gretna, and Meagan (Ben) Greenhagen of Gretna, grandchildren; Peyton, Ava, Aden, Keegan, Makenna, and Collin, and siblings Judy (Terry) Haney of Omaha, Jane Kelly (Ken Trinkle) of Omaha, and Bill (Suzi) Zents of MA. Memorial service Saturday 10:30 AM at Reichmuth Funeral Home, Elkhorn. Private interment. Memorials to the Nebraska Humane Society. Kathy wants to extend a final “Good Riddance” to Brookestone Meadows!
