Linda Lee Christianson

Linda L. Renter was born April 8, 1958 in Wahoo, Nebraska to Ernest and Patsy (Polland) Renter. Linda grew up in Leshara, Nebraska and attended school in Yutan, Nebraska, graduating from Yutan High School in 1977. Growing up, Linda enjoyed taking care of the animals and the garden at home, as well as playing on the sand banks of the Platte River, fishing, and caring for her siblings. Linda married Dennis Christianson December 3, 1983 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with two children, Daniel and Tracy. The family made their home in Bennington. Linda held many jobs throughout her life. She worked at Farmer Brown’s, was a cook at the Veteran’s Home, served as a housekeeper at Immanuel Hospital, and put together eye glasses at Barnett & Ramel Optical. She also worked for a few years in the deli and produce departments at Baker’s, along with a few other jobs. Most recently, she had been answering the phones and helping with Dennis’s trash hauling business. Linda was a helpful, caring, quiet, kind and easy-going woman, but was also a tough cookie! She enjoyed going to craft shows, taking her dog for walks, doing crossword puzzles, along with planting flowers and growing veggies in her garden. She loved baking for the holidays, and was always trying out new recipes. Linda was talented with crocheting hats and blankets that she would gift family and friends. And she spent countless hours reading books and newspapers. She had an uncanny ability to locate anything and everything in her packed refrigerator, and had a habit of buying multiples of the same item. Linda cherished time with her family, most of all. Through the years it was taking Daniel fishing at the river, attending Tracy’s dance recitals, her yearly trip to Branson with her sister, Sharon, or dinner at Red Lobster, and a movie or trip to the casino with Dennis, she always wanted to be with her family. She especially cherished time with her two granddaughters, and had made it her goal to see her second granddaughter born as she continued to battle her cancer; a goal which she achieved. Linda will be remembered for always putting other’s needs above her own. Linda passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska after a battle with cancer at the age of 63 years, 8 months, and 3 days. She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Renter. Linda is survived by her husband Dennis, and son Daniel of Bennington, daughter Tracy (Ryan) Andress of Blair, granddaughters Jillian and Callie, mother Patsy Renter of Leshara, siblings; Sharon Hancock of Fremont, Ernest Renter, Jr. of Leshara, Laura Renter of Wahoo, and Judy (Mark) Peters of Valley, nieces and nephews.
