Lori A. Olsen

Lori Ann (Christensen) Olsen was born August 6th,1960. Lori passed away at her home on September 30th, 2019. Lori was baptized on December 11, 1960 and Confirmed on May 5th,1974 both at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha. Lori attended Bennington Public Schools her entire life, graduating with the Class of 1978. On September 8th, 1979 Lori married Eric Olsen at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha, NE. To this union two children were born. Philip John was born September 29th, 1981 and Colleen Elizabeth was born September 28th, 1983. Eric & Lori raised their kids in Bennington. After the kids left home, they moved into Omaha. During high school, Lori played basketball and volleyball. After high school she played slow pitch softball, even pitching when she was pregnant with Philip! When Philip & Collen were young Lori did in home daycare watching several kids throughout the years. Her daycare kids were as precious to her as her own kids. She made the best mac n cheese and puppy chow! Baking cakes for many birthday’s, wedding’s, and special events was also a passion of Lori’s. Her buttercream frosting was the best! Once the kids were older, she began working for the Bennington Public Schools driving the Special Education Transportation Vehicle. She then began working at the Bank of Bennington as a teller. She later moved on to be a Loan Processor. She was currently working at American National Bank in Omaha as a Commercial Loan Processor. Lori had a love for helping others. She brought joy to people of all ages as a clown throughout her lifetime. She and Eric joined the Life in Christ Circus Clown’s. She was known for crocheting hats and prayer shawls during any free time she had. whether it be riding in the car or waiting for an event to start. Her goal was to make 100 hats every year. She made hats that were sent to the Ukraine and locally to the Stephen’s Center. She loved watching her 5 grandkids participate in all their activities. She loved to watch PBR, whether in person or on TV. She loved decorating the inside and outside of the house for every holiday. Lori is survived by her beloved husband Eric of 40 years, son Philip & Natasha Olsen, daughter Colleen & Mark Crom, grandchildren Jaylynn, Jennifer, Gavin, Noah, & Colin, two brother Don & Denise Christensen and David & DeEtta Christensen. Numerous friends and family. She is also survived by a special Aunt & Uncle Carole & Daryl Cox. Memorials can be made to either the Stonebridge Christian Church or to First Christian Church at Tabor, Iowa
