Maxine Lorraine George Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Maxine L. (Neely) George was born July 19, 1922 in Grand Island, NE, and passed away at her home in Yutan, NE June 15, 2022. She married Everett George on August 19, 1939 at the Douglas County Courthouse, and to this union, three children were born; Laura, Everett, Jr. and Gerald. Maxine loved tending to her garden; growing beautiful flowers, and numerous vegetables for her family. She was also very involved with the State Fair for many years when it was held in Waterloo. She was awarded several blue ribbons for the crafts that she displayed. She stayed active helping with Bible School at church with the kids, and held dear the words of Psalm 23 and the Lord’s Prayer. Maxine died at her home in Yutan, Nebraska on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the age of 99 years, 10 months, and 27 days. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett George, Sr., sons Everett George, Jr. and Gerald “Jerry” George, and sister Beverly Jean Nabor. Maxine is survived by her daughter Laura Peitzmeier of Yutan, 9 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 25 great great grandchildren, and 4 great great great grandchildren. Maxine’s biggest love was her family, and she had a deep love of her savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to extend a big thank you to John Bacus, Elder from the Christian Church of Waterloo, for his dedication to bringing her communion, prayer and her favorite glazed donuts just to see her smile. Also, the family would like to acknowledge with great appreciation, all of the home care individuals who helped her live the best life she could so she could live the rest of her life at home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25 at 10 AM at the Christian Church of Waterloo, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will take place at Westlawn Hillcrest Cemetery in Omaha, NE.
