Bradley Lowell Schwartz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bradley Lowell Schwartz, born February 2, 1966 in Grand Forks, ND, to Ronald and Kathleen (Messer) Schwartz. He succumbed to a sudden cardiac event on Saturday, January 24th. He was a man who lived life on his own terms and loved deeply in his own quiet way. Brad grew up in Hebron, ND and attended Hebron Public School where he graduated in 1984. Brad was an athlete who loved baseball, football and track and loved weightlifting. He continued working out every single day in his home gym as it was so important for him to keep fit. Brad attended North Dakota State College of Science and graduated with an AAS degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating Technology in 1988. While there he red-shirted for NDSCS’s Football Team. He attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa where he received his Tool & Die Certification. The last 3 years he worked for Great Plains Regional Health in the Maintenance Department. His longest and most proud career was working with Schwartz Enterprises, a company owned family business. Brad supervised a large area of rest area contracts for many, many years. Brad was a true American patriot, proud of his country and the freedom it stands for. He loved the outdoors - especially hunting. In his younger years he found joy in the thrill and camaraderie of pheasant season. Opening day always brought a group of hometown and college friends to the farm. Over the years the group got smaller, and less time was spent hunting, but more time was spent enjoying one another’s company. Brad was also an avid skier and spent a great deal of time on the slopes while living in Colorado. During his free time, he loved sharing beers and laughter with his good friends. As a kid and young adult, he was known for his shenanigans and stories that have only gotten better with time. Those memories have become part of the legend his family and friends will always smile about. Beneath the mischief though was a man who was kind, gentle and stoic - quiet by nature but strong in character. He was well respected by his employees and co-workers and was always interested in their personal lives. He was that guy that was willing to help any friend in need no matter the time or circumstance. Brad married Raiza Lipstock and together they shared in the joy of the birth of their daughter, Vanessa. Although that marriage did not withstand time, he loved his family fiercely, especially his daughter and her brothers, Dalton Shade and Javier Shade. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, friends who will miss him dearly, and countless memories that will be shared for years to come. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his quiet strength, his love of freedom and the unmistakable way he lived life authentically. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank & Anna Schwartz, Jacob & Leakatria Messer and numerous aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his parents, Ron & Kathy Schwartz, his sisters Annette (Keith) Byman, Claudine (Doug) Fair, his nephews Brad, Brett & Bryce Byman and his nieces Carsen, Campbell and Chloe Fair, his daughter Vanessa and her brothers Dalton Shade & Javier Shade. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elkhorn, NE at 10:30am on Friday, January 30, 2026, with a visitation one hour prior. Interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery of Elkhorn. A Celebration of Life will also be held in Hebron, ND this summer.
