Carol Ann Ludwick

Carol Ann Ludwick was born on June 4, 1934 in Valley, Nebraska to Robert and Velma (Stone) Heimbaugh. Carol Heimbaugh married Eugene “Gene” Ludwick on July 11, 1959 at the Trinity Methodist Church in Omaha, Nebraska. They raised their children: Michael, Robert, Gina, and Richard, in Omaha before moving to Waterloo in 1971. Carol loved to have a good time. She enjoyed playing Keno, drinking beer, listening to music, and cheering for Husker football. It was important to Carol to spend holidays with her family, especially Christmas Eve. The Fourth of July was her favorite holiday. When she passed away on July 4, 2026, she went out with a bang! Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Velma Heimbaugh; husband, Gene Ludwick; son, Michael Ludwick; and siblings, Roberta Miller and Jess Heimbaugh. She is survived by her children: Bob Ludwick of Nebraska, Gina (Steve) Grinter of Oklahoma, and Richard (Karen) Ludwick of Kentucky; as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren: Tina (Bryan) Breems; Tess (Mike) Andersen and their children Jordan (Kaitlyn) Andersen, Joey (Manuela) Andersen, and Aiden Andersen; Chris (Katie) Ludwick and their children Ryan Ludwick (and his son Kingston Ludwick) and Jaxin Ludwick; Cheree (Bill) Watts and their children Ady (Jake) Marshall (and their son Beaux), Ben Watts, and Ella Watts; Sarah (Brett) Ohrt and their children Brixton Ohrt and Everlee Ohrt; Jesse (Dani) Ludwick and their children Mabel Ludwick and Ledger Ludwick; Jared Ludwick and his children Cleo Ludwick and Iris Ludwick; Michelle (Luke) Garcia and their children Caylin Garcia, Ashley Garcia, Katie Garcia, and Cash Garcia; Kindred Nicole Grinter; Natalya Ludwick; Kristopher Ludwick; Hunter Ludwick; Morgan Ludwick; and Bailey Ludwick. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Elkhorn, with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery of Elkhorn. Carol’s family invites everyone to please wear their favorite Husker gear to her service. Memorials may be directed to Carol’s family for later designation.
