Gene Paul Christ

Gene Paul Christ was born on December 5, 1936 in Walthill, Nebraska to Otto and Hattie (Wilder) Christ. He grew up in Walthill and attended grade school there. Gene has made his home in Blair, King Lake and Hastings before moving back to King Lake. In recent years, Gene moved to be with his daughter Tammy in Blair and finally to Waterford Assisted Living in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Gene worked as a welder at Kelly Ryan Farm Equipment in Blair for over 20 years before working for Armour in Hastings, Nebraska until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, crafts and fishing. Gene loved his grandchildren and attending their many activities. He was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed Chicken Fried Steak at Parkers in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Gene passed away suddenly on the morning of February 10, 2014 at the Bellevue Medical Center at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Hattie, wife Tenya and siblings Art, Emil, Clarence, Henry, Mildred Biggio and Ernie. Gene is survived by his children Gene Christ, Jr. and Linda Christ both of Washington state; Paul Christ and Tammy Lucht both of Blair, NE; James Longbine, Jr. of LaVista, Troy Longbine of Lincoln, Jeffrey Lewis of Iowa and Kellie Bouton of Hastings, NE; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Albert of Norfolk, NE and Gerald of Fremont; sisters Ramona Bales of West Point and Clarabell Hankins of Homer, NE Christ, Gene age 77 of Plattsmouth, NE formerly of King Lake; Survived by children Gene, Jr. Christ and Linda Christ both of Washington state; Paul Christ and Tammy Lucht both of Blair, NE; James Longbine, Jr. of LaVista, Troy Longbine of Lincoln, Jeffrey Lewis of Iowa and Kellie Bouton of Hastings, NE; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers Albert of Norfolk, NE and Gerald of Fremont; sisters Ramona Bales of West Point and Clarabell Hankins of Homer, NE; Visitation Thursday noon to 8 PM with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
