Kay Frances Moeller March 21, 1947 – July 19, 2026 Kay Frances Moeller, 79, of Bennington, Nebraska, peacefully entered her heavenly home on July 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a challenging year. While her family grieves her absence, they find comfort knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and watching over those she loved so deeply. Kay was born on March 21, 1947, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Edwin and Pauline Conrad. She grew up in Scribner, Nebraska, where her incredible work ethic began at just 12 years old when she started working at a local steakhouse. Throughout her life, she held many roles—including waitressing, homemaker, clerk, and caterer—but the role she cherished most was caring for her family. On August 1, 1964, Kay married the love of her life, Wayne. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, family, and a love that grew stronger with each passing year. They raised their two sons, Ryan and Danny, and spent more than 50 years making their home in Bennington, Nebraska. This August, they would have celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. Though Kay was called home just two weeks before that milestone, the love they shared over nearly six decades remains a testament to a life well lived together. Kay was a homemaker in every sense of the word. Her house wasn’t just a home—it was a gathering place. The door was always open, there was always enough food for one more person, and no one ever left hungry or unloved. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals and her famous lemon bars. There was also a candy drawer that became legendary among her sons’ friends. Every child who walked through her door was welcomed as if they were one of her own. Family was the greatest joy of Kay’s life. She adored her husband, lived for her two sons, and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love knew no limits, and she never missed an opportunity to put someone else’s needs before her own. She had a servant’s heart, always going above and beyond to care for family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. Kay had a personality that was impossible to miss. She lived life out loud. If Kay was in the room, you knew it. She had a booming voice, an unforgettable laugh, a bright smile, and a bubbly spirit that could light up any gathering. She was generous beyond measure, fiercely devoted to those she loved, and made everyone feel like family. After retiring at age 65, Kay and Wayne enjoyed spending their winters as snowbirds in Florida and Texas. She loved soaking up the sunshine, taking walks outdoors, and simply enjoying life’s little moments with the people she loved most. Kay is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Wayne; her sons, Ryan (Lori) Moeller and Daniel Moeller; three grandchildren, Kurtis (Jessie) Moeller, Nicole (Lyle) Workman, and Trevor Moeller; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Lucy Kay, Noah, and Benny Workman; Kade, and Baby Girl Moeller; her sister, Sandra (Jerry) Brunings; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Moeller and Natalie (Dwaine) Nau; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Pauline Conrad; her sisters, Lois (Larry) White and Linda (Dennis) Berry; her parents-in-law, Eugene and Wilma Moeller; and her brothers-in-law, Rodney (Jan) Moeller and Gary Moeller. Although our hearts are broken, we rejoice knowing Heaven welcomed one more beautiful soul. Kay’s legacy will live on in every family meal, every open door, every act of kindness, and every life she touched. She taught us that love is best shown through service, generosity, and always making room for one more at the table. “Her life was loud, her love was even louder, and everyone who knew her is better because of it.” A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.
