Linda Sue Cordel

Linda Sue (Wolfson) Cordel was born on September 15, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska to Harry and Cleo (Pryor) Wolfson. She grew up in Omaha where she attended Benson grade school, Monroe Middle School and graduated from Benson High School in 1971. As a young girl, Linda enjoyed the horses and dogs when they would visit the farms of their extended family. She was active in the American Red Cross in high school and would tend to get into mischief with her sister. Linda married Ed Cordel on June 9, 1974 at the Elks Club in Omaha and to this union two daughters were born: Michelle and Cara. Linda and her family made their home in Elkhorn. She worked at Allied Trucking, Osco Drugs as a cashier and Clarkson Hospital as a Computer Services Secretary. Linda enjoyed dancing, music, bowling, going to movies and attending live musical performances. With her family, she spent time travelling, camping and boating. Linda was a strong, caring, fun woman who was very involved in the lives of her children. She was proud to be a stay at home mom, dedicated to her daughters. Linda was an avid Husker fan and had a weakness for sweets. She enjoyed spending days and nights at Peony Park. Linda was especially proud of her beloved German Shepherd Gretchen who was very gentle and never bit anyone. Linda passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha at the age of 59 years and 3 months. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Cleo. Linda is survived by daughters Michelle and Eric Broz and Cara Cordel and Matt McElligott all of Omaha; grandchildren Alexis McElligott and Austin Broz; sister Paula Kessler of Omaha; Ed Cordel of Omaha; Cordel, Linda age 59 of Omaha, NE Survived by daughters Michelle and Eric Broz and Cara Cordel and Matt McElligott all of Omaha; grandchildren Alexis McElligott and Austin Broz; sister Paula Kessler of Omaha; Ed Cordel of Omaha; Visitation with the family Thursday 3 Pm to 4 PM.
