Marilee Ellen Swenson

Marilee Ellen ( Mulholland) Swenson was born on August 23rd, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her father Benner Mulholland, her mother Laura Bentz and her brother Mike Mulholland. Marilee grew up in Valley, attended grade school in Omaha and attended high school at Valley High. Marilee owned and operated P .J.'s bar and restaurant for 10 years here in Valley. She was very successful at her career in Human Resources at Oriental Trading Co., and in Software sales at Pro Data. Marilee and Don Swenson were married in Kansas City on April 29th, 1978. This month would be their 30th Anniversary. They have resided in Valley and Omaha. Marilee was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Marilee absolutely LOVED her 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Any reason to get together was a good one. From cook outs to holidays, she had the gift of bringing people together. In recent months, the times on the patio with her husband Don, affectionately known as DoDo, will always be remember as the most cherished times. She loved being outside to watch her bunnies and squirrels eat all their treats she left for them. Nothing short of a tornado would stop her from barbequing. Traveling to Hawaii with her husband was a highlight of her life. She also looked forward to her trips with her granddaughter Laura to see her daughter Joni and son-in-law Sid in Mississippi. Saturday outings with the girls, whether grandchildren, special friends or the "Granny Pack" was always a treat. With all the memories these are some of the special ones: Joni �" working marathon crossword puzzles and seeing who could make the other one laugh the most. Tony �" someone he could always talk to about everything, mom was his best friend. Cari �" How special it was for her to be present for the birth of all three of her girls. Tia �" with as much love for the three boys, she was delighted to welcome the newest addition to our family Saybra, who she requested to see over and over again. Doug �" Remembers fondly the gleam in her eyes during the two day bathroom remodeling project that was extended to two weeks just to enjoy the time with each other. Laura �" Every morning always having coffee together, before the day started and the endless laughter. DoDo remembers how she would always write down all the good movies, his favorite shows and when they were on. "She always made sure I was taken care of." If Marilee were here today she would say that DoDo was the one that always took care of her. He was the love of her life. She was anxiously awaiting the turn of the season so she could resume the times on the patio with her husband, family and friends. Unfortunately past memories will have to suffice. And, Marilee absolutely believed that Jesus would take her and lead her to heaven.
