Pamela Ann Rowan

Pamela Ann Rowan was born on August 17, 1951 to Dietrich and Leona (Murman) Peters in Laurens, Iowa. Pam grew up in Rolfe, Iowa, graduating from Rolfe High School in 1969. As a girl, she loved to camp and fish with her parents and played basketball in high school. Pam attended business school in Omaha and worked for Dr. Higgins at Creighton University’s College of Dentistry. She later worked for Phillips Distributors and CBS Homes for over 25 years. Pam was blessed with two children, Elise Koren in 1972 and Brian Thomas in 1974. Pam lived in Wall Lake, Iowa before moving and raising her family in Omaha. Pam’s favorite role was that of “Mom” and “Grandma”. Her most significant memories were the birth of her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated grandmother who looked forward with excitement to each new addition to the family. Pam was present at the birth of her daughter’s first child; Elise remembers her mom staying by her side and holding her hand the entire time. Pam loved getting her family together and having fun, whether it was decorating Christmas cookies or attending anything her grandchildren were involved in. Pam loved sports! Her most favorite thing was watching and attending Nebraska football games. She was an avid walker and enjoyed golfing; one of Brian’s fondest memories is when his mom taught him how to play golf. Pam participated in a bowling league with Brain and her granddaughter, Ava, and she was already throwing a ball to her grandson, Jackson, when he was only 2 years old. Pam was definitely the loudest in the room or on a field if you got her going! This gave everyone a chuckle since she was typically so soft spoken. Her family will remember Pam for always being there to offer comfort, a sympathetic ear or a much needed hug. She was the best listener and always managed to say the right thing. She had a kind, selfless and beautiful heart. Pam was a quiet woman who loved loudly and unconditionally. Pam passed away October 5, 2020 at her home in Omaha at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents Dietrich and Leona (Murman) Peters. Pam is survived by her daughter Elise (Michael) Coe of Bennington and her son Brian (Heather) Rowan of Bennington; 5 grandchildren: Lauren, Jackson, Charlie, Carly Martinez, and Ava; 2 great-grandsons Jaron and Cruz and a great-granddaughter on the way; her brother Dave (Cindy) Peters of Somers, IA; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her partner Bill Egan.
