Robert Dale Keeler

Robert Dale Keeler was born January 21, 1965, in Sutherland, Nebraska to Dale and Joyce (Bergmann) Keeler. Bob grew up in Valley, Nebraska, graduating from Valley High School in 1984. Growing up, Bob was interested in photography and even developed the photos he took himself. He also took part in band and choir in school. He served as a firefighter and EMT for the Valley Volunteer Fire Department, as had his father and one of his grandfathers. Bob married Karen Seebeck on July 31, 1993, at St. John’s Catholic Church on the campus of Creighton University. Bob and Karen have made their home in Omaha for the last 25 years. Bob has worked many various jobs through the years, but he liked his most recent the best, working as a network controller at West Corporation. Bob was a kind, friendly, caring and loving man, who was loved and respected by those who knew him. He was a genuinely good person, who would give you the shirt off his back, if you needed it. He loved classic rock, while still being a Parrothead; his favorite movie was “St. Elmo’s Fire”, and he proudly wore his “Cubby Blue” while cheering for the Chicago Cubs. His other favorite team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He liked to sip on a cold iced tea, or have some Guinness or a little Jack Daniels, and was always up for a meal at Fernando’s. Bob was proud of his life with Karen, and was fond of saying, “happy wife, happy life”. He enjoyed cooking, computers, gaming (both mobile and computer), and traveling when he and Karen were able. When thinking about Bob, everyone sees his physical size and assumes certain things, but remember, you can’t judge a book by its cover. His heart was big enough to hold family and friends from all over the world. Bob passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 3 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Joyce, his sister Barbara Klinetobe, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles. Bob is survived by his wife Karen Seebeck-Keeler, sister and brother-in-law Pat & Warren Mommsen, brother-in-law Michael Seebeck and his wife Lidia, mother-in-law Shirley Seebeck, nephews Sean Klinetobe and John Seebeck, and nieces Jennifer & Aaron Adams, and their children, Ruby and Calder, and Jillian & Ron Carson, and their children, Eleanor, Beckham, and Brooklyn.
