Susan “Susie” Reardon Cody 8/14/51 to 2/24/11 Susie was a devoted wife, loving mother, adoring grandmother and loyal friend. She was a sweet, funny, easy-going person that so many people felt comfortable around. Susie was happily married to Michael Cody for almost 20 years, and traveled with him to 49 of the 50 states. Susie loved her family, friends and pets dearly. She enjoyed cooking for others, playing cards, watching the Huskers win, and spending hours on end with her granddaughter MaKenzie. Over the years, Susie’s favorite jobs were those that let her meet and connect with people. Our heartfelt thanks to the many physicians, caregivers and friends who helped Susie through her 11-year long battle with cancer. Susie was born in Albion, NE, raised in St. Edward, NE and lived much of her life in Valley, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents Darlene Hill and Vince Reardon, her brother John Reardon, and her grandmother Vera Hill. Susie is survived by her husband Michael Cody (LeShara, NE), daughter Angela Opfer (Omaha, NE), son Jeff LaCoste (Seattle, WA), daughter-in-law Mary LaCoste (Seattle, WA), stepdaughters Krystel Fortun (Omaha, NE) and Stefani Samuels (Peyton, CO), and granddaughter MaKenzie Opfer (Omaha, NE). She is also survived by two half-sisters and a half-brother in Alaska, and her close cousins Joyce Vosler and Jerry Richard (Ashland, NE).
