Tracy Marie Crespo

Tracy Marie (Grieve) Crespo was born March 23, 1976 in Fresno, California to James and Marion (Hagerty) Grieve. When she was 15 months old, the family moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Tracy grew up with her 5 brothers and sisters. She attended Neihardt Elementary School, Andersen Middle School and graduated from Millard South High School in 1994. As a young girl, Tracy was active in dance with her big sister, Holly, and loved playing outside with her neighbors and cousins. She could constantly be found with her Cabbage Patch Kids, and was fond of decorating things around the house. After high school, Tracy lived in California and Missouri, and worked at different hospitals and nursing homes as a Nurse’s Aide. She grew to love nursing and was a gifted caregiver. Tracy married Mario Crespo on August 11, 2006 on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in front of friends and family. The reverend Jim Condina made it a memorable ceremony! The couple was blessed to have their daughter, Zoey Holly Crespo in attendance at their wedding. Tracy, Mario, and Zoey have lived in Omaha, moved to Killeen, Texas for a time, and returned to Omaha. Tracy returned to college after her wedding, and earned her degree as a Registered Nurse from the College of St. Mary in July 2009. She worked hard to earn her degree, and was proud to graduate with high honors. Tracy was a compassionate and hard working nurse, and received many notes of “thanks” from her patients that she cared for. Tracy loved her family, and enjoyed their many get-togethers. She was especially thrilled when she was able to travel to San Francisco for her birthday in 2010 with her cousin, Jenette, only to be surprised by her sisters, Kelly, Colleen, and Holly joining them for the fun. She was also happy to travel to California later that same year for Jenette’s wedding with Mario, Zoey, and much of her family, and to visit Disney Land, and some of Mario’s family. She will be remembered as a gentle, kind hearted, humorous woman, who loved being with friends and family, but her greatest love and joy was for Mario and Zoey. Tracy died unexpectedly at her home in Omaha on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the age of 36 years, 3 months, and 27 days. She is preceded in death by her father, Jim Grieve. Tracy is survived by her husband Mario, and daughter Zoey, mother Marion Grieve, brothers: Patrick and wife, Mary Grieve, Michael Grieve, sisters: Kelly Hanson, Colleen and husband, Dale Burow of Simi Valley, California, Holly and husband Aaron Janssen, beloved cousin Jenette and husband Jeff Smith of Sherman Oaks, California, nieces and nephews: Kari and husband Brandon Weber, Caitlin Grieve, Ryan Hanson, Haleigh Grieve, Tanner Grieve, Mackenzie Grieve, Brannon Burow, Mikey Grieve, Alexandra Burow, Sydney Grieve, Hunter Grieve, and Patrick Grieve, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Tracy Marie (Grieve) Crespo, age 36, of Omaha, died July 19, 2012. Preceded in death by her father, Jim Grieve. Survived by husband Mario, and daughter Zoey Crespo of Omaha, mother Marion Grieve of Omaha, brothers: Patrick (Mary) Grieve of Omaha, Michael Grieve of Omaha, sisters: Kelly Hanson of Omaha, Colleen (Dale) Burow of Simi Valley, CA, Holly (Aaron) Janssen of Omaha, beloved cousin Jenette (Jeff) Smith of Sherman Oaks, CA, 12 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Monday, July 23, 2012 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Omaha. Visitation with the family from 3-5 PM Sunday at the church with a wake service at 5. Memorials may be directed to the family.
